“Comfort thine heart, I pray thee…”
-Judges 19:8-
Our Father, which art in Heaven:
We ask that you will forgive us for our sins. Create
in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Lord,
please comfort us. You are our comforter, and in the midst of our
afflictions and losses, you give us strength and hope. There
are days, we struggle deeply missing a loved one, whose deceased, and
the loss of a job, even the loss of sanity (sometimes) because of a
challenging circumstance, but you are the God of comfort. You told us,
that blessed are us who mourn, for we shall be comforted. Lord you have
seen our ways, and you will heal us: You will lead us also, and restore comfort unto us. Even when we don’t feel we have comfort (it is there), in the multitude of our thoughts within us thy comforts delight our soul. We know you are with us, because your rod and staff comforts us. You comfort us on every side. We know that you will not leave us comfortless, because you will come for us. You comfort us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted by you, God. Thank you for being our comfort.
